Fall Projects to Complete this Month
Has the colder weather and pumpkin spice got you worried about outdoor projects? While there is a lot to do before winter to get your yard and house winter ready, don’t you worry; there is still plenty of time to complete all of your outdoor chores, with the best tools on the market. Keep on reading to see some of the things you should do this month to prepare for winter and what equipment you will need to get the job done right.
Cutting Firewood
If you’ve had a recent storm in your area that knocked down trees/thick branches or you’ve removed a tree recently, you might have the opportunity to saw your own wood for the winter. Not only will this make your home cozy warm in the winter, you’ll also be saving money by not having to purchase pre-cut firewood. Plus, sawing your own can be way more satisfying!
However, safety is critical and you want to be sure to wear the proper protective gear to avoid injury.
To complete this job, take a look at STIHL’s full line of chainsaws. No matter the job, we can find the chainsaw that will fit your needs. Before starting this project, read more about the ins and outs of sawing your own firewood.
Pressure Washing
Before winter hits, you want to be sure to clean the outside areas of your home to keep it looking pristine and to avoid damage to the home over the colder months. Between the gutters, siding, all your outdoor furniture and decorations, the deck, garage floor and your driveway, that’s a lot of area to clean.
Make this project easier with a STIHL pressure washer that will wash all these areas and more with efficiency and ease. Alternatively, you can rent pressure washers but if you even pressure wash once every few years, it’s more cost effective to just purchase your own. Pressure washers are quite durable and depending on your usage, can last you years.
Tilling Your Garden
If you have a home garden or small plot, the fall is the perfect time to till the soil; by the time spring comes, the soil will be perfectly ready for a fresh growing season. At this time, you can provide much needed nutrients to the soil by tilling and can even throw in compost if you have any available.
For a small garden, a Honda Mini-Tiller should fit your needs nicely but if you have a larger project with more area to cover, there are more industrial sized tillers available.
